Preparing for the 50th Anniversary of the Corvette in 2003, Al Hill restored this amazing 1953 Corvette pedal car that Harley Earl had specially built for his close friend, Bert Lyon. This one-of-a-kind design made inside Mr. E's independent design firm in 1954 was completely done outside his corporate design responsibilities at the GM Styling Section.

Photos below were all taken in 1954 by Harley Earl Inc. staff photographer, Bob Hughes. Clair Samhammer (pictured), a HEI industrial designer, built the car and was interviewed by Al Hill in 2002.
